The Ship Inn is a pub-restaurant in the glorious seaside town of Weymouth. Famed for its nautical heritage and golden beaches, it’s the perfect place to embark on a scenic walk. There’s an interesting stride (that is available to download as a map) around the famous Quay, Nothe Fort and gardens.
Popular attractions such as the charming Neapolitan coloured cottages, the RNLI station, sea views to Portland and Weymouth Sailing Club as well as Brewers Quay shopping centre are all points worth observing on the way. Follow your seaside ramble with something delicious from our menu.
The Ship Inn is an idyllic harbour-side venue which offers guests unparalleled views of the quay. Sailing and fishing boats glide serenely by and the quay is a-buzz with activity nearly all year round. The area of Weymouth (formerly known as Melcombe Regis) is steeped in maritime history. The inn has been on the site for a few hundred years now and developed into the ‘Red Warehouse’ in the last century. The building next door even features a cannonball lodged in the wall, having been fired in a time far gone by.
Inside the contemporary pub, you’ll find each room filled with the area’s history, wooden floorboards, an open fire and a striking copper bar. Outside, the front terrace has seating for 20 and to the rear there is a cosy courtyard.
We love dogs, as all good pubs should! Well-behaved dogs are welcome in our bar and outdoor areas. Wi-Fi access is free to all our guests (subject to availability).
The Ship Inn is proud to be part of the Hall & Woodhouse family. For more information on Hall & Woodhouse and to find other Hall & Woodhouse houses click here.
